Dear friends.
This course is inspired by anthroposophy, but last weeks have been too much focussed on the ideology and ideas of Steiner, without taking it as personal experience. Welcome to the dogmatism of religion and philosophy of life… It is interesting to follow the discussion but emotionally I get influenced by the energy that is going around. The atmosphere is strange and although we share a lot of joyful experiences, many of us also are exhausted by the intensity of the program. These weeks are weeks of contemplation, both on an individual level (with biography), in artistic ways (storytelling, sacred geometry) and in society (science and contemplative spirituality). The topics that we are working with during the lectures come back in my life. For example today, when I had a conversation with Par from Solvik. It was great to talk with him about the way that Solvik is founded, the fundamentals and also the ideas behind Intuitive Pedagogy. And in the interview with Pomerants that I am reading. In the stories I find in the ninety year old book I found in Stockholm. In myself.
For now there is not so much that I would like to write about. There is a lot to put into words, but at the moment I prefer to let the mud sink in my head and wait untill the water is clear. Untill I get peace in my mind again to sit down and talk about my experiences. Because stories only get interesting when you have access to the picture, with descriptions. And there are a lot of wonderful pictures I can describe – another time. To illustrate the feeling of living in a fairytale – this afternoon the sun broke through and I decided to go for a run after a good morning session. I went out in the forest and took small paths passing rock formations and frozen trees when a deer was crossing my path jumping over some wood. The light was shining through the brenches and the fresh cold was lovely, the sky clear and bright. When I came back I took a dive in the Fjord (after breaking through the ice) to cool down. I arrived just in time at the White House for the storytelling. I took the challenge and in front of everyone I told my first story. It was a good experience and people were very enthousiastic. I am getting to the point of courage where I actually take action and do instead of dream or try… Maybe some time soon I will take my first recording with Christof. Choir continues twice a week and we sing beautifull songs in four voices. The other week days we practice yoga in the mornings.
The weekend was nice as well. I went to the Gulla Villan on friday to learn the basics of Swedish folk dance (where an old man tought me the steps) on live violin music. On saturday, after I went to Solvik, I stayed in the White House for the rest of the day to read, write and draw. In the evening I hitchhiked to Jarna again, this time to go to a gala. Film, poetry, art and music. The night ended with a lot of dancing, surrounded by people full of joy and energy. Sunday I slept untill half past ten (!) and took a long shower. At twelve I took off for Charlottendal where I spent all afternoon with Peter in the community. He showed me around, we took a walk and he talked about the background of the place, the story of his life, and about his work as a psychotherapist and documentary maker. That day I was doing a solidarity fast for Zimbabwe, but I set down with the family when they were eating lunch – I am used to eat warm in the afternoon now – and talked about India, travel, children and future. I am excited to work there during the community engagements (forestry work, outdoor learning, and starting to develop an alternative kindergarden).
